The Blade, Manchester
Project Overview :
Central to the impressive skyline in the Deansgate development of Manchester, the Blade is another tower that reflects the revitalised image of New Jackson Street and provides evermore breathtaking views across the city centre and beyond.
Through our ongoing relationship with the developer, Renaker Build, which has grown over the last 6 years from our initial support on their other Deansgate properties, we were once again asked to review and help them with the full external façade cleaning package.
As has proved extremely successful previously, the journey in ensuring that the façades were approached with the correct access, products and cleaning methodology, included an initial phase of testing, client review and finally the safe and successful delivery of the project.
We have now been working with the client for over 6 years, forging our relationship in the provision of key data at the outset, undertaking test trials to determine how best to achieve the client’s vision, then seeing the overall project through to completion. To date, this will be the 7th tower that we have worked on with Renaker Build.
Working from a variety of access methods, including abseil, BMU, MEWPs and specially designed temporary cradles, our approach was designed to create flexibility in the cleaning methods and team, ensuring that the façades could be handed over on time; despite the wonderful Manchester weather!
